It happens…here are a few tricks that can help you tackle the problem.
If you’re reading this, your pet probably had an accident. You’re frustrated, you can smell the pet odor as you walk in, been there done that. Now you are thinking… great, now comes the fun. What do I do to remove the urine, or what haven’t I already done! and it still smells?
First Step: Is to absorb as much pet urine as you can with a white cloth. I say white because colored fabrics can bleed.
Second Step: Is to mix warm vinegar 1-6 mixture ratio. Meaning… 1 part vinegar to 6 parts warm water. Pour it onto the affected area and let it sit for 15 minutes. Remember the spot on the top is twice the size on the backing of the carpet. Do not use this on fine fabrics or wool!
Third Step: Is to extract as much as you can. Do not rinse or clean yet, just extract for now.
Fourth Step: Is to put a fan on the spot or area and let dry about 85%.
Fifth Step: Now you want to spray the vinegar and water mixture as stated above onto the face fibers and let it sit for 15 minutes.
Sixth Step: Now you can rinse and extract.
Seventh Step: Is to put a white towel over the spot. As carpet dries it wicks up to the face fibers. The white cloth will help absorb what is left.
Eighth Step: If there is a slight lingering smell, you could get an enzyme from your local pet store.
Nine Step: If there is still a lingering smell then repeat steps 2-7 again.
